Milford Hospital Honors Physicians

MILFORD--Local physicians were Honored at Gala Dinner On September 24th, 2011, The Milford Hospital Auxiliary and The Milford Hospital Medical Staff honored 8 local physicians at their “Healing Hands, Caring Hearts” Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony.

Over 25 physicians were nominated in 4 different award categories. Nominations were solicited from the entire medical staff. Awards were given to selected physicians who demonstrate clinical excellence and exemplify outstanding service to patients, staff, medical staff colleagues, the hospital community and the Milford community.

The Honorees were chosen by representatives of the Milford Hospital Auxiliary, Milford Hospital Medical Staff, Milford Hospital Administration and other designees.

To be honored are: General Surgeon David Katz, MD, and Gastroenterologist Mae Tighe, MD, in the Medical Staff Leadership category. Orthopaedic Surgeon Amit Lahav, MD and Cardiologist; Robert Lewis, MD, in the Clinical Excellence category; Orthopaedic Surgeon, John Irving, MD and Emergency Center physician, Christopher Gennino, DO in the Patient Care and Satisfaction category. In addition, two special Milford Hospital Auxiliary Awards will be given to hospitalist, Michael Rudolph, MD, for Community Service and to Allergist, Birur Chandra, MD for Longstanding Support and Commitment

An additional nine physicians will be receive Honorable Mention designation.
