Volunteers Needed for Pumpkins on the Pier

Calling all community volunteers! Pumpkins on the Pier, a family fun day to benefit Boys and Girls Club of Milford with Master of Ceremonies Brian Smith, needs scores of volunteers to participate in four-hour shifts to help make the noon to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15 event at Walnut Beach a success.
Events, sponsored by the Milford Bank and other local businesses, include pumpkin decorating and carving contests, tractor hay rides, horse and buggy rides, pie-eating contest, antique and classic car show, and a fun run for kids. Pumpkins, food, and beverages will be sold. “We need more people to oversee each of the events,” said volunteer coordinator Barbara Carissimi. “Each volunteer will receive a Boys and Girls Club T-shirt and a name badge.” To volunteer, contact Carissimi at jbtrc@optonline.net.
Deadline for corporate, business, and individual sponsorships is Sept. 30. To sponsor Pumpkins on the Pier, contact Megan Altomare, executive director, at 203-713-8055.
