Calling writers who need a platform

The workshop will be presented by Adair Heitmann, shown.
"While waiting for agents to beat down your door, learn how to promote yourself and your writing by understanding what a platform is, why it’s important to have one, and how to find your niche," organizers said in a statement.
"Hear tried and true examples from an author who in September 2008 did not have a platform, and by 2009 when you Googled her, her name was at the top of the list."
“I had fun building my platform and it serves me well. I hope all the writers out there will come to the Fairfield Public Library and discover how they can build their writer’s platform,” Heitmann said, also in the statement.
Heitmann’s award-winning work has been published in three anthologies, more than 30 magazines and newspapers and online in Voices: A Journal of Women’s Wisdom, the statement said. She is a Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism Grant recipient and is also a speaker and consultant, the statement said.
Heitmann blogs and tweets about creativity and wellness, is in many Who’s Who; and leads writing workshops at Fairfield Public Library, the statement said.
Register for thes event at http://www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org/ or 203-256-3160.
Heitmann will raffle off a book at the end of the workshop. All events at the Fairfield Public Library are free.
