Southern Connecticut Hebrew Academy collecting items to help Hurricane Sandy victims
The collection runs through Nov. 16
ORANGE - Southern Connecticut Hebrew Academy and Beth Chana Academy High School have joined forces to help the recovery efforts for those who were devastated by Hurricane Sandy, officials said in a statement.

"The community is invited to be a part of this school-wide project by donating items," the statement said.
All items must be new and can be dropped off in the collection boxes in the school lobby at 261 Derby Ave.
These items will be collected through Nov. 16: Toys,
books and art supplies (these will be given to a preschool in New York
affected by the storm), paper towels, tissues, cleaning supplies,
towels, blankets, canned foods and non-perishable food items.
“It
is in these troubled times that our unity comes to the fore. We are
proud that our students are involved in this project and invite the
community to help make a difference,” said Rabbi Sheya Hecht, SHA
headmaster, also in the statement
