Return of Extended Hours at Milford Transfer Station

Milford Mayor Benjamin G. Blake has announced the return of the extended hours at the Transfer Station, which will begin Saturday, April 7 and run through mid-December.

During the winter, the Transfer Station was open 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturdays. The extended hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Regular weekday hours will remain the same (7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.). “This very successful program has attracted hundreds of participants each week since its inception,” said Mayor Blake. “The extended hours make it more convenient for Milford citizens to bring their bulky trash items to the Station. By doing so, there will be less bulk left on the streets to be picked up by City crews, thus realizing a cost savings.”

As a reminder, this program is for Milford residents only. The extended hours do not apply to commercial haulers. Visitors to the Transfer Station will be asked to present their vehicle registration at the gate.

The Public Works Department also reminds residents that no construction and demolition (C&D) materials will be taken at the Transfer Station any longer. These items may be brought to City Carting at 221 Old Gate Lane, Milford (203 882-5840) on Saturdays only from 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. Residents are responsible for disposal costs.

Information was submitted by the mayor's office.
