The spring program of Amity Adult & Continuing Education is set to start the week of Monday, March 5th with several new courses to choose from, as well as your standard favorites. Have you ever wanted to create a Tiffany style window? Take our Stained Glass course and bring home your own masterpiece. Try your hand at acrylics, watercolor, oil, or maybe one of our brand new art classes, including; Open Studio Drawing & Painting, Figure Drawing, or Painting and Color Theory. There are bus trips galore. Among the offerings are trips to take you to Block Island, Little Italy & South Street Seaport, Tall Ships & the US Navy, A Taste of Manhattan, Pennsylvania Dutch 3 day trip, Nordic Lodge and Mohegan Sun Casino, Majestic Cruise Newport, RI, Circle Line Cruise, and many more. Classes on Resume Redesign will help you prepare for a new job. If you want to start your own on-line business or take computer courses to update your skills there will be opportunities to learn from our expert instructors. Check out the Crafts, Music and Dance, Entertainment and Finance programs. There will be Bridge, Mah Jong, and Pinochle classes. Our expanded fitness and sports offerings include Boating Safety and Personal Watercraft, Golf, Fly Fishing, Tai Chi, Yoga, Zumba, Womens’ Self Defense, Japanese Bujutsu, and our fun new Hoop Dance Workout Class. In the Language Department, do you speak Arabic, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin or Sign Language? If not, come and see how easy they are to learn. Several Health offerings, such as Adult, Child & Infant CPR, First Aid, Pet First Aid, and How to Raise Healthy Kids are being offered. In addition, some very special offerings with noted professionals addressing issues near and dear to us are on the docket. Dr. Bernie Siegel will teach “Reflections on the Art of Living and Healing”. Robert Klancko, expert on environmental and energy issues, will give a course on “Contemporary Environmental/Energy Issues”. Noted Psychic Medium and local Woodbridge resident, Richard Jackson, will teach a class on “Relaxation and Meditation”, and also the “Spirit World“. In the Craft Department, you’ll learn how to Organize Your Photos, make a “Tree of Life Pendant”, Design Your Own Jewelry, and learn to use that Cricut Machine you got for Christmas.
