Alzheimer’s Association to give caregiver classes
MILFORD — The Alzheimer’s Association, Connecticut Chapter, is offering a free, four-part family caregiver series for caregivers of people with any type of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease 6-7:30 p.m. Thursdays starting Sept. 14 at 300 Seaside Ave., auditorium C. Refreshments will be served
Topics will include:
- Sept. 14: Overview of Alzheimer’s Disease, other forms of dementia and treatment and research.
- Sept. 21: Communication techniques, behavioral challenges/strategies and safety.
- Sept. 28: Family dynamics, keeping the caregiver healthy and community resources
- Oct. 5: Legal and financial issues .
