Bridgeport Hospital to hold Cancer College


BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport Hospital will present free One-Day Cancer College on Sept. 25 at Trumbull Marriott, according to a statement.

Mount Everest climber and cancer survivor Alan Hobson, shown, is guest speaker.

Bridgeport Hospital’s Norma F. Pfriem Cancer Institute is the sponsor for its third annual One-Day Cancer College, Saturday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m., at the Trumbull Marriott, 180 Hawley Lane.

During the free event, Cancer Institute experts will provide information about the latest advances in cancer treatment and integrative therapies, the statement said.

Space is limited and advance registration is required.

In addition to Hobson, who will speak in the main ballroom during lunch, 11:45 a.m.–1 p.m., Bridgeport Hospital experts will present 45-minute lectures on a number of cancer-related topics, the statement said.

The lectures will cover six different tracks: Breast Cancer, Gastrointestinal Cancer, Genitourinary Cancer, Gynecological Cancer, Thoracic Cancer and Mind, Body & Spirit.

Participants can stay in one track of attend lectures in two or three tracks.
