Milford tax bills have misprint
Total on bill is correct, however
MILFORD — Motor vehicle tax bills are on their way to residents, but a printing error may incorrectly show an exemption on most residents’ bill, said city Tax Collector Judy J. Haley.
Although the tax exemption printed on the bill is incorrect in most cases, the final amount due is correct, Haley said.
It appears the printing company, in error, printed the net assessment twice. It is printed once in the proper column and once incorrectly in the exemption column.
“The net assessment and tax amounts due are correct as shown on the bills,” she said in a statement released to help avoid confusion. “The printing error that showed an exemption is the only error on the bill. Again, the tax amount due is calculated correctly and should be paid promptly.”
